Carby Label expands flexible packaging capacity with fourth Lombardi press

Italian converter Carby Label has purchased a fourth press from Lombardi Converting Machinery, investing in an Invicta i1 670 inline flexographic press to expand production capacity and grow its presence in the flexible packaging market.

The 670 mm web-width press will be installed at Carby Label’s facility in Casamassima, Italy, where it will support the company’s increasing production requirements for fruit and vegetable packaging. According to Carby Label, the investment is expected to double production capacity while providing the print quality, speed, and flexibility needed to meet growing customer demand.

The Invicta i1 platform is designed for both label and flexible packaging production, enabling converters to diversify into wider-web applications while maintaining the efficiencies of inline flexographic printing. Features include high levels of automation, fast job changeovers, and print consistency across a range of substrates.

The purchase marks the fourth Lombardi press installed at Carby Label, reflecting a long-standing relationship between the two Italian companies.
