Cartor Security Printers has been recognized for its high-level print capabilities following the success of a commemorative stamp produced for Åland Post, which recently received top honors at the World’s Best Stamp Competition 2025.

The stamp, issued by the postal service of the autonomous Finnish region of Åland, was praised for both its design and execution, with Åland Post specifically highlighting the “meticulous print quality” achieved by Cartor in translating the concept into a finished product.

While the competition primarily celebrates design excellence, production quality remains a critical factor in determining winners—placing a spotlight on the precision, consistency, and technical expertise required in security and specialty printing. In this case, Cartor’s ability to faithfully reproduce fine details, color accuracy, and intricate elements played a key role in the stamp’s recognition on the global stage.

Security printing applications such as postage stamps demand a unique combination of technical capabilities, including high-resolution imaging, tight registration, and often the integration of specialized inks or embellishments. These requirements closely mirror those seen in premium label and packaging production, particularly in markets where brand protection, authentication, and visual impact are essential.

The project also underscores the continued relevance of advanced print craftsmanship in an increasingly digital world. Despite declining mail volumes globally, philatelic products remain a showcase for innovation in print — often serving as a proving ground for techniques that later influence other segments of the printing and converting industry.

For Cartor, the recognition reinforces its position in the global security printing market and highlights the role of print quality as a differentiator in highly specialized applications.
