Growth will be driven by e-commerce, demand for packaged goods, and increased adoption of smart labeling technologies, according to a new report from Research and Markets.

The global print label market is projected to grow from $50.6 billion in 2025 to $68.6 billion by 2034, driven by expanding e-commerce, growing demand for packaged goods, and increasing adoption of smart labeling technologies, according to a new report from Research and Markets.
The report forecasts a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.4% from 2026 through 2034, citing continued demand for labels that support product identification, regulatory compliance, authentication, and supply chain traceability.
Food and beverage remains the largest end-use segment, while healthcare and pharmaceutical applications continue to fuel demand for labels that communicate dosage, ingredients, safety information, and serialization. The report notes that anti-counterfeiting and product traceability are becoming increasingly important across regulated industries.
Technology continues to reshape the market, with digital printing, flexography, inkjet, electrophotography, gravure, offset lithography, screen printing, and letterpress all playing key roles in label production. Digital printing, in particular, is gaining traction for its ability to support short-run production, faster turnaround times, and product customization.
The report also highlights the continued growth of smart labels, including QR codes, RFID, NFC, and other connected technologies that improve inventory management, logistics, consumer engagement, and brand protection.
From a materials perspective, plastic and polymer labels continue to account for the largest share of the market due to their durability and compatibility with multiple printing processes. Pressure-sensitive labels remain the dominant label format, while linerless labels, in-mold labels, sleeves, and multi-part tracking labels continue to gain adoption in specialized applications.
Sustainability remains another major market driver, with converters and material suppliers investing in recyclable and compostable substrates, linerless constructions, and more resource-efficient manufacturing processes to meet evolving environmental regulations and customer expectations.
The report identifies Asia-Pacific as the largest regional market, supported by continued growth in packaged goods manufacturing and investment in advanced printing technologies.
