At interpack 2026, Securikett introduced a new range of SecurityTapes manufactured from recycled raw materials, expanding its portfolio of sustainable tamper-evident solutions.

The new tapes build on the company’s recycled-material label line launched in 2025 and are designed to deliver the same high level of security performance while supporting circular economy goals. Available in multiple widths, the tapes feature a highly visible tamper-evident VOID effect that activates upon removal, providing clear evidence of unauthorized access.

Engineered for real-world logistics conditions, the tapes are designed to maintain consistent performance across a range of packaging scenarios. Notably, the VOID effect is reliably triggered even when multiple layers of tape are applied, ensuring that tampering remains visible regardless of how packages are sealed.

A key design feature is an adhesive-free zone positioned in the center of the tape. This helps prevent premature activation of the VOID effect during transport, such as from vibration or impact events like parcel drops, ensuring the security function is only triggered during intentional opening.

With the addition of recycled materials, the new tapes offer an alternative to conventional plastic-based solutions without compromising performance. The development reflects growing demand from brand owners and logistics providers for packaging components that combine security, functionality, and improved environmental credentials.

“Our new security tapes made from recycled materials represent another important step toward sustainable packaging solutions, complementing our proven paper-based tapes,” says Werner Horn, CEO of Securikett. “For customers who cannot or prefer not to switch to paper, they provide an ecological alternative that enables both secure and more sustainable packaging.”

The launch highlights continued innovation in tamper-evident packaging, as suppliers respond to increasing pressure for both enhanced product protection and reduced environmental impact.
