LemuGroup has announced a new partnership with Mark Andy, which will combine its award-winning flexographic and digital press technologies with LemuGroup's extensive finishing and robotic end-of-line automation products.
This collaboration offers prime label converters a one-stop shop for an unwind to end-of-line roll automation solution and/or full factory automation. Mark Andy is now able to offer customers a complete "unwind to palletizer," single operator solution for automated roll label production from the press to finished and boxed rolls, ready to ship from converters to the label market.
This system can be compatible with any Mark Andy press and turret combination. The combined system, inclusive of defective roll label mapping, eliminates the need for a second pass off-line quality control. This entire system requires one single operator for the entire operation for product ready to ship.

LemuGroup's expertise in end-of-line automation, combined with Mark Andy's flexo and digital knowhow, is expected to result in substantially improved productivity (30-55%), quality, and profitability for prime label converters, the companies say.
Andre Beaudoin, director of North American sales and marketing, LemuGroup, states, “We are proud to have been asked by Mark Andy to provide an automated end-of-press solution that allows them meet the needs of their customers in need of a drastically improved production process that results in higher productivity with available fewer people. We expect that the offering will continue to expand as our mutual customers and embrace the relationship where our clients will find increased profitability using Mark Andy presses and press-room automation equipment.
"Mark Andy customers will benefit from the 75 years of printing expertise and LemuGoup's 60 years of converting and end-of-line automation experience with a combined offering that will reduce downtime, optimize press uptime/utilization by increasing productivity, quality, and profitability," he adds. "This identifies the true Lean Manufacturing model in converting."
