Tharstern MIS helps drive Sundance Marketing Solutions

The Tharstern MIS streamlines quoting, estimating, printing and post-production processes through to delivery.

A fully integrated management information system (MIS) from Tharstern has gone live and is a key future business growth driver at Sundance Marketing Solutions, a rising commercial print and marketing firm.

The deal with Sundance Marketing Solutions is being highlighted as part of Tharstern’s presence at a series of shows and discussion forums this autumn. It is currently taking place in booth 6654 at Labelexpo Americas, and it will be followed at Booth 601 North at Graph Expo, Orlando, FL, from September 25-28. Tharstern is also part of the Canon thINK group of digital print production professionals.

Sundance Marketing Solutions, which is heading toward its 10th anniversary enjoying 18% year-on-year compound growth since inception, says the MIS is vital to streamlining quoting, estimating, printing and post-production processes through to delivery. It chose Tharstern as its MIS provider after a three-year search.

With print lengths continuing to fall, the Tharstern MIS – complete with powerful estimating tools and purpose-build CRM – will reduce costs to a fraction of the $350 average administration fees per order that have been incurred until now.

“The Tharstern MIS is the single biggest monetary investment we have made, taking into account the man hours," explains John Henry Ruggieri, managing director of Central FL-based Sundance Marketing Solutions. "But it’s all worth it – this is the future for our company and is crucial to our planned business growth. We haven’t just put our toe into the water; we’ve gone for an all-encompassing system that will revolutionize the way we do business.”

Central will be the ability to bring down the turnaround times for jobs – currently around 48 hours – to a cycle of around four hours from online ordering to dispatching the jobs to customers. “The opportunities are limitless,” adds Ruggieri. “Tharstern is big enough to deliver to our exacting requirements; it’s also of a size where staff really get to know you personally.”

“We have been growing aggressively and needed to streamline and automate our processes," says Brad Taylor, one of the partners for Sundance Marketing Solutions. "JDF and other systems will all be driven by the Tharstern MIS. It will give us the opportunity to exceed expectations with customers through cost reductions and improved efficiencies.”

“Sundance Marketing Solutions is a great example of a company recognizing the wide-ranging benefits of implementing the Tharstern MIS and how our partnership approach is designed to help businesses grow," says Bob Moore, chief operating officer for Tharstern USA. "Tharstern has a unique approach within the North American MIS market, with its staff of knowledgeable industry professionals, which is seeing us gain traction in the marketplace.”

Tharstern global sales director Lee Ward adds: “Our North American division, launched a year ago, is performing just as we had hoped. Launching this first installation in the USA is proof of that – we’re delighted.”

Tharstern has established tight integration with other market-leaders, for example Heidelberg and HP – both using Tharstern as a preferred partner for MIS – as well as Manroland, Komori, Xerox, Esko, Enfocus Switch, Kodak, Agfa and Fuji. Tharstern provides MIS to the print, packaging and label industries. It has a client base of more than 700 users across the globe. It has 7,000 users of its MIS and workflow solutions, with a 96% customer retention rate.
