Herma UK has commissioned a new high-speed 2-meter slitting line at its Newbury, England, facility, expanding its processing capabilities for film and paper self-adhesive materials while increasing production capacity for wide-format applications.

Designed to process thin films and other coated, sensitive materials, the new system delivers precise slitting with clean-cut edges, stable web handling, and controlled web tension to support downstream converting, printing, and label application processes. The investment also increases the facility’s maximum web width from 1.5 to 2.0 meters, allowing wider master rolls to be processed while improving material throughput.

According to HERMA, the new line will enable faster turnaround times and greater production flexibility, particularly for wide-format and time-sensitive orders. The seven-figure investment also strengthens the company’s capabilities in the growing market for film-based self-adhesive materials.

“We are excited to announce that a state-of-the-art 2-meter slitting line is now operational at Herma UK’s facility in Newbury, enhancing our production capabilities,” says Emmanuel Odofin, managing director of Herma UK. “The new system improves cutting quality for sensitive materials, broadens our capabilities with wide formats, and allows us to meet customer demands more swiftly and flexibly.”

The project began in the first quarter of 2026 and was completed on schedule by the end of the second quarter following facility upgrades that included reinforcing the factory floor, modifying the production layout, and enhancing the site’s power supply.
