Premium label converter, UK-based The Label Makers, has helped Andorra’s first craft gin brand create an award-winning identity that captures the essence of the Pyrenean principality through premium embellishments, sustainable design solutions and print expertise.

Launched in December 2025 by co-founders and co-master distillers Soraya Spiers and John Vrilakas, FORA was created to showcase Andorra’s unique character. Its flagship product, FORA Terroir, reflects the country’s landscape and heritage through a blend of wild botanicals hand-foraged throughout the region.

The label design has already received international acclaim, with FORA Terroir winning Best Branding at The Gin Guide Awards and securing a Gold Medal at the World Gin Awards. The product was also named among the World Gin Awards’ Top Five Global Finalists, while FORA Clàssic received a Gold Medal and Negroni secured Silver at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).

From the outset, FORA partnered with The Label Makers to develop labels that would convey the brand’s premium status and bring its story to life. After extensive research into potential suppliers, FORA selected The Label Makers for its print quality, technical expertise and collaborative approach. Today, the company produces labels for the entire FORA range, including Terroir, Clàssic and Negroni.

A key challenge was creating a premium look and feel while remaining true to FORA’s sustainability commitments. As a distillery located within the Ordino UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, FORA has been awarded the UNESCO Seal in recognition of its commitment to sustainable production and operations. Maintaining a fully non-toxic and plastic-free approach was therefore essential throughout the project.

Working within these parameters, The Label Makers developed a solution that delivered luxury branding without compromising environmental values. Using premium uncoated white paper stock, the team combined copper foiling with tactile screen embellishments to create a label that is both visually striking and highly tactile. Raised detailing on the mountain landscape and pine sprig helps evoke Andorra’s dramatic scenery while reinforcing the product’s handcrafted nature.

Soraya Spiers, co-founder and co-master distiller at FORA, says, “We originally wanted to screen print the bottles, but budget constraints meant we needed to explore other options. In hindsight, that proved to be a blessing. The finished labels are beyond what we imagined and have helped us establish FORA as a premium brand from day one.

“Creating a luxury product while staying true to our sustainability commitments was incredibly important to us, and The Label Makers embraced that challenge from the start. The tactile detailing, copper foiling and quality of the finish perfectly capture the beauty of Andorra and the story behind our products.

“The Label Makers’ Malcolm Rushforth was a dream to work with throughout the project, guiding us through every stage of the process, while Polly Playford’s design work brought our vision to life. The labels are everything we hoped they would be and have played a huge role in the success of the brand.”

Ben Robinson, sales director at The Label Makers, concludes, “FORA had a clear vision for how it wanted to showcase Andorra’s character through its packaging while remaining committed to sustainable principles. By combining premium materials, copper foiling and tactile embellishments, we created a label that delivers strong shelf appeal and reflects both the quality of the product inside and the values behind the brand.”
