Ecolyne addresses this challenge through a subscription-based “capacity-on-demand” model. Instead of purchasing the press, customers pay a monthly fee for a defined volume of prints. This fee includes the use of the press, servicing, and consumables, allowing converters to align costs more closely with actual production needs while maintaining predictable operating expenses.

Technologically, Ecolyne builds on Flint Group Digital Xeikon’s long-standing expertise in dry-toner electrophotography. The press uses standard QB toners, which are food-safe and known for delivering consistent, high-quality results across a wide range of applications. With a print resolution of up to 1200 dpi, support for up to five-color printing, and the ability to handle various substrates—including paper, polypropylene, polyethylene, and PET films—Ecolyne provides the versatility required for modern label production.

A defining characteristic of Ecolyne is its focus on essential functionality, removing complexity that many standard label applications simply don’t require. Rather than incorporating the full range of premium features available in higher-end Xeikon presses, the system has been engineered to meet the core requirements of standard label jobs. This deliberate simplification enables a more cost-effective solution while preserving the reliability and print quality associated with Xeikon technology.

The press is manufactured in Belgium, leveraging Flint Group Digital Xeikon’s global engineering and production capabilities. It is designed to integrate with finishing solutions through partnerships with local suppliers, allowing converters to build a complete production workflow tailored to their specific needs.

Ecolyne also reflects broader shifts within the label printing industry.
