MPS discusses success with hybrid printing

10.02.21

ASL Print FX recently invested in an MPS EF Symjet “powered by Domino” hybrid press.

MPS, in a booth closely located to Domino, highlighted its hybrid printing capabilities at Label Congress on September 29-30. Most recently, award-winning label converter ASL Print FX invested in an MPS EF Symjet “powered by Domino” hybrid press.

The press, which was installed in 2018, helped ASL Print FX notch a first place TLMI Award in 2020. The company was recognized for its label for Anarchist Wine Company and the brand 15 Minutes of Fame – designed by Jenny Doll from San Francisco. "A lot of hard work went into brand development, and the MPS/Domino press played key role in the various iterations before the final design was complete," states Travis Pollard, vice president and general manager, Napa, ASL Print FX.

The EF Symjet “powered by Domino” is a symbiotic combination of a flexo press with the fully automated MPS EF platform and an integrated Domino N610i digital UV inkjet label press. Integrated on the EF platform, the MPS EF Symjet “powered by Domino” can either be installed as a fully integrated inline or as a standalone off-line digital solution. With the benefits of both flexo with automated pressure settings including job memory and digital printing, the EF Symjet “powered by Domino” gives label printers a wide range of new print possibilities.

In addition, Label Congress provided a venue for MPS to introduce Keith Nagle, an industry veteran who recently joined the press manufacturer. Nagle was appointed sales manager for North America, where he will further expand the company’s presence in the region.

With more than 25 years of successful experience in international print applications, Nagle’s strengths are in business development, flexographic equipment, digital print technologies, digital prepress, pressroom troubleshooting, account transition, operator training, product development, color control, and new applications development.
