Roll-2-Roll Technologies has announced that long-time industry veteran Ron Schmidt has joined the company as the director of sales.
President and co-founder Aravind Seshadri says, “Ron brings decades of web handling product and application experience from his many years servicing the converting industry while working with Maxcess International, where he held many national and global positions while developing business in countries around the world.”
In addition, he has been active in several web handling industry trade associations, including past president of CEMA (Converting Equipment Manufacturers Association) and AIMCAL (Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators), where he was on the Board of Directors and past chairman of the group's Web Handling Committee.
"I'm very impressed with R2R's deep understanding of web handling and their technical innovation in web guiding, but also with their proprietary sensor technology, allowing them to detect unique contrasts on a moving web for web guiding position control, defect detection and quality inspection across the web at an affordable price," says Schmidt. "I'm also very impressed by the company's dedication to customer service with their incredible personalized service and quick responsiveness."
R2R Technologies will be presenting a paper on "Predicting and Preventing Issues in Roll-to-Roll Manufacturing Using Data Analytics Techniques" and exhibiting its products at the upcoming AIMCAL R2R (roll-to-roll) Conference, scheduled for October 15-18, 2017 at the Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, FL.
