LOC España has strengthened its label production capabilities with the installation of a second Bobst inline flexo press, adding a Master M5 to its operation as demand for high-quality, complex label work continues to grow.

The Spanish converter, which specializes in self-adhesive labels for sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and cosmetics, made the investment to increase both production capacity and operational flexibility. The new press complements an existing Bobst Master M4, enabling improved workflow balance and seamless job transitions across lines.

Operating in an environment shaped by tighter lead times and increasing job complexity, LOC España selected the Master M5 to maintain high print quality while improving efficiency and responsiveness.

“Our customers demand very high quality and zero defects,” says Zoilo López, CEO of LOC España. “They rely on us to handle complex applications —from multilayer labels to advanced diecutting — and we needed the right technology to support that.”

By investing in a second, closely aligned platform, the company benefits from shared tooling, operator familiarity and streamlined production processes. The Master M5 also integrates features such as Print Tutor Technology, supporting consistent output and reduced variability in production.

“We chose Bobst because it reflects our philosophy: a young, dynamic, and above all, innovative company” explains López.

With the second flexo press now operational, LOC España has increased its production capacity and, by operating two highly compatible Bobst lines, has achieved a better balance across production workflows throughout the plant.

“Machine tools like Print Tutor Technology are a key differentiator from competitors and perfectly align with the quality culture that defines our company,” notes Andrés Marían, Production Manager at LOC.

The installation has already enabled LOC España to expand its presence in high-performance applications, including labels designed for high-speed dual-head application systems. The company also continues to develop advanced solutions such as multilayer and linerless labels.

Looking ahead, LOC España plans to further expand its capabilities, with a third Bobst press and its first digital printing system expected to be installed in the near future.

“If everything goes as planned, we expect to install a third one this year. We particularly value the simplicity of operation and the machine’s continuous evolution – that combination is hard to find,” says Zoilo.

With a fully digital press already planned to be installed before the end of the year, LOC España’s trajectory is clear. For a family business built on values of precision, agility, and trust, Bobst has become a strategic partner aligned with its values and ambitions.

“LOC España is exactly the kind of partner that inspires us,” says Jordi Giralt, head of BOBST’s Label Product Line. “They combine the spirit of a family business with a commitment to innovation and quality that is hard to match. Seeing them grow from one Bobst machine to two – and soon three – is a great source of pride for our team. In an industry where the margin for error is measured in microns and delivery windows are increasingly tight, this type of collaboration is invaluable. We look forward to continuing to support their ambitions and helping them stay at the forefront of an increasingly demanding market.”
