Entrepreneur John Prikkel has purchased 51 percent interest in Fusion Graphics Inc., South Dayton, OH, USA, a company that markets in-mold labeling technology for security and anti-counterfeiting. The entire Fusion Graphics team will be retained, Prikkel says, and relocated to the Englewood facilities of Liteflex LLC, another of his businesses.
“This is an exciting acquisition for many reasons,” says Prikkel. “The technology is unique and offers significant value add for pharmaceutical manufacturers seeking to comply with national e-Pedigree standards. Additionally, we offer security and anti-counterfeiting measures for manufacturers of consumer products, health and beauty aides, and over-the-counter medications. Beyond the security aspects, there are compelling reasons for plastics processors of all kinds to consider this technology — including better branding opportunities and permanent identification of their products.”
Fusion Graphics past President Chuck Norman is also excited about the acquisition. “I’ve known John for years and have long admired his ability to instill his entrepreneurial spirit into the companies that he owns. We’re eager to have his counsel and insight as we leverage our existing technology to better serve our current and future customers.”
Fusion Graphics’ labeling process uses patented materials and technologies to provide labels which are fused with any plastic product during its manufacture. The result, says Prikkel, is a label that will not peel, crack or come off the product. Because the label becomes part of the product, the elements of nature, gamma radiation, autoclaves, dishwashers, rough handling, gasoline and other adverse external factors will not affect the labels image, security markings, safety messages, or product aesthetics
