The printing department at Fullerton College, located in Fullerton, CA, USA, has added a new Mark Andy 2200L, a 10" six-color press with a UV coater and drying system. Anderson Vreeland has offered a new 12" x 18" Orbiter 10 platemaker, which provides process color plates.
Industry donations to Fullerton College include a new plate mounter, rewind machine, print cylinders, dies, water based flexo inks, substrates, and disposable ink trays, donated by Enviromental Inks, Xsystems, MACtac, PIC, Labletronics, and DIP. All print cylinders, magnetic cylinder, hydra jacks and magnetic dies were donated by RotoMetrics.
The technology allows students to produce four-color process labels with spot color and UV coatings. The new equipment will complement the Flexographic Technical Association’s training curriculum taught in Fullerton’s printing programs.
Fullerton is offering a new accelerated flexography training program that will provide industry certification in 15 weeks. The college has a limited number of scholarships available for tuition, books, parking fees, etc. Application information is available at www.fullcoll.edu.
Fullerton College also offers Graphic Arts Technical Foundation certification in sheetfed offset printing and prepress programs. Custom tailored programs for industry sponsors are available. For more information, contact Dennis Howey at dhowey@fullcoll.edu or call 714-992-7587.
