From October 15-19, press maker Gidue opened its doors to its European distributors, customers and potential customers for an Autumn Open House, in which the Italian manufacturer’s brand new innovations have been unveiled. Nearly 30 printing companies from several European countries came to see the new Gidue product range.
A main attraction at the eventwas Gidue's Master M5 supporting Digital Flexo 3.0 technology. This printing machine has been proposed with the following set-up: 430mm press, 10 colors, full UV, specifically designed for the production of coupon, multi-web, multi-layer labels. The traditional M5 configuration also comes with Print Tutor, Print Tutor Plus, delam/relam, cold foil and web turnbar all on rail and an additional diecutting station (total of 4) to the converting section.
The machine is also provided with a solution for magnetic cylinder storage, and with the Digital Flexo technology, a label converting system designed for waste and production time reduction. Participants also appreciated the new Combat MX, what the company calls the “world-press” for self-adhesive labels.
During the five day Open House, a number of technical demonstrations were run, both with Gidue and the participants’ plates, so that they could verify the accuracy of the proposed Gidue products. Particularly, visitors attended live demos of the M5 Digital Flexo 3.0 (that enables fully automatic "digital" print pressure and register set-up, with less than 20m waste), the Combat MX( 2 job changes: cold foil and diecutting) and also the Combat M3, for multiple substrates (with a particular focus on the recently introduced Metronome, the semi-rotary diecutting unit.)
Matteo Cardinotti, Gidue operations manager, commented: “We really appreciated the participation of all converters who came to Florence to see our new products. Even if the event has been arranged in a very short time, it has been a good opportunity to meet old and new friends, sharing ideas and considerations, and it gave us the chance to present our new innovations."
