Flexo Concepts will join up with Harper Corporation's Roadshow at the second stop of its 2013 SMART tour in Charlotte, NC. The event will take place at the Central Piedmont Community College on Thursday, May 16, 2013. The doctor blade manufacturer was one of several leading industry co-suppliers chosen to present at the event. Its president, Kevin McLaughlin, will talk about advancements in doctor blade materials and tip design as well as current state-of-the-art doctor blade options as they relate to modern anilox roll technology.
Founded in 1988, Flexo Concepts is a maker and supplier of nonmetallic doctor blades to the flexographic and sheetfed offset industries. Sold under the TruPoint brand, the company's blades feature a long life, safety benefits over steel and ability to be customized for a wide variety of applications.
The first stop on Harper’s Roadshow was at Mark Andy Incorporated in Chesterfield, MO, on March 27. It was the first of six stops scheduled to make up the 2013 tour. The theme this year is “Showcasing Modern Anilox Roll Technology” or “SMART.” Attendees are provided with information about the latest industry trends and best practices with focus on improving efficiency and competitiveness. Remaining stops on the tour include Cincinnati on June 6, Philadelphia on July 25, Green Bay (date to be announced), and Atlanta on November 5.
This annual event is hosted by Harper free-of-charge. However, space is limited and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to register as soon as possible. Harper describes the roadshow as a “wonderful networking and educational opportunity for print managers and supervisors, pre-press managers, graphic designers, ink, plate and pre-press suppliers, operators, and purchasing and general managers.”
