Tapp Label Company has finalized a merger that will combine its four printing locations into one entity. According to Tapp Label, the merger helps the company provide regional service to its customers by operating facilities in every major wine market in North America.
The operating locations include Napa and Livermore, CA,USA, Portland, OR, USA, and Vancouver, BC. The manufacturing platform includes a full range of digital, offset and flexographic printing and decoration capabilities.
David Bowyer, the new company’s CEO and president, has introduced his executive team.
Steve Miller will serve as the vice president and general manager. He has been in the printing industry for 46 years, including 31 years of plant management and continuous improvement management for global printers like RR Donnelley, Quebecor World, York Label, and Staples. His experience has taken him across the US and into South America, Western Europe, and Asia.
Rod Smith is the VP of sales and marketing. He graduated from Cal Poly and brings 30 years in sales management and business development in national markets in the printing, packaging, and consumer products industries. He last served as the director of sales at the label division of Staples. His experience includes all platforms of printing, narrow and sheet-fed production, branding and organizational development.
Brian Sharpe will function as the new VP of finance. Sharpe, a CPA/CGA graduate, has over 19 years of accounting and financial management experience in a variety of industries, with the last five years having been with Tapp Label. In addition to managing the finances of +$100 million companies, he has served as project manager on ERP implementations, as well as participated in numerous acquisitions.
After ten years of international teaching and returning to Canada in 2009, David DeRuiter will be the new VP of human resources. Since returning to Canada, he has progressed as a business manager and HR manager. DeRuiter joined Tapp Label three years ago as the HR manager, and he has been promoted to the executive team.
