Ashland has launched Aroset PS 6449, a solution-based acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) that delivers excellent optical clarity to electronics applications. Aroset PS 6449 adhesive is acid free and thus reduces the likelihood of future corrosion. The product also demonstrates a good balance of adhesion and cohesion, and good temperature resistance.
Aroset PS 6449 adhesive can be used in bonding multiple layers together in electronics applications, where optical clarity, durability, weatherability performance are required.
“Aroset PS 6449 adhesive can improve the quality and durability of electronics, such as mobile phones, tablets, notebook personal computers, and automotive monitors for entertainment and GPS systems,” says Zhaohui Sun, industry manager, pressure sensitive adhesives, Ashland. “Testing has shown it to provide unmatched optical clarity, which is critical for consumer satisfaction with these devices.”
During the PSTC Tape Summit conference, the company also featured its Aroset 1295 and Aroset 2570 pressure sensitive adhesives. “Aroset 1295 is an emulsion acrylic PSA with good balance of adhesion, cohesion, and chemical and plasticizer resistance,” says Cathy Boysko, sales director for pressure sensitive adhesives, Ashland. “Aroset 1295 adhesive displays a less impactful environmental profile than traditional solvent-based PSAs, and it is well suited for graphics, industrial tape and transfer tape applications.”
Aroset 2570 is an emulsion acrylic PSA for applications such as masking, graphics and resealable packaging that require removable adhesives.
