Xpress Labels has placed an order for a PicoColour UV Inkjet Digital Label Press, manufactured and supplied by Dantex Group. Xpress Labels is a self-adhesive label manufacturer based in, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK.
The addition of the PicoColour digital label press to the company’s existing flexo offering expands its capacity while growing the customer base. Rob Bagley, Commercial Director at Xpress Labels, says: “ We looked at other digital presses, but the PicoColour offers high print quality as well as all the other features we were looking for and at the right price-point; for instance, one key driver for us was the inline die cutting on the PicoColour. We were offered a tailored package with no bolt-ons. It will suit the work that we do and will integrate well with our business."
Xpress Labels’ reputation for supplying customers with the finest quality products with short lead times is of great importance, Bagley says, so it was necessary to introduce digital print to its offering. “The PicoColour’s ability to use any media was a particularly important factor in our decision making process; we can continue to use our current label stocks, which is a huge bonus! We will not need to buy a material coater or use specially coated materials so that we can use our new digital press. This will not only be more cost-effective, but will also save on space and will enable us to run more jobs, more quickly," says Bagley.
The PicoColour has been developed to address the continuing demand from major brands for value-added label and package printing. With a printing width of 210mm and running capacity of 35m per minute, the PicoColour is described as a versatile and highly productive printing system at a competitive price. The press works with UV based inks and is available with CMYK + White.
Dantex's UK Sales Manager Martin Hill says, “With the majority of printers under market pressure to offer the benefits of digital print - shorter runs, flexibility, quick turnaround and cost effective label solutions - the PicoColour is the ideal solution for Xpress Labels. We look forward to working closely with their team on this initial installation and to help them meet their current and on-going printing requirements.”
Dantex launched its digital division in 2015, having served the labels and packaging industry for nearly 50 years.
