The Dynatrol Division of Automation Products has released the GJ Level Switch, which is designed for application to either high or low point level detection of bulk solids. The GJ detector is constructed to handle sensitive or problem applications that tend to pack or bridge easily.
The product operates successfully with consistent results on applications such as dust collectors and lightweight bulk solids. Reliable operation can be achieved with this control where other types of controls may fail to operate. This level switch is approved for Class I, Groups C & D; Class II, Groups E, F & G; and Class III services, CSA C/USA approved.
The uncovered paddle is free to vibrate, producing an output signal. This signal operates a relay indicating the paddle is uncovered - a low level exists. When the paddle is covered, a dampening of the oscillations occurs and the relay indicates that a high level exists. The On/Off signal from the Dynatrol GJ Detector operates a SPDT relay in the EC-501A(G) Control Unit. The contacts of this relay can be used to actuate alarms, indicator lights or process control equipment.
According to the company, installation is simple. The level switch is mounted through a 3/4” half-coupling at the point of desired level detection. Dynatrol detectors are constructed for long operating life. Requiring no adjustments and having no moving parts, they are virtually wear-free.
