Michelman will return for another edition of the Xeikon Café Packaging Innovations 2017, set for March 28-31, to showcase its flagship DigiPrime 4453 digital press primer in a hands-on platform. The patented solution for excellent print fidelity will be a highlight of live in-mold labeling applications for food containers and wraparound labels for soft drink labels.
Michelman will feature its DigiPrime 4453 brand primer, especially formulated for use on Xeikon digital presses, during the four-day Xeikon Café event. The water-based primer provides excellent ink adhesion to most IML films, improves rub resistance, and is Xeikon-approved for use with Xeikon dry toners (QA-I toner, ICE toner and Cheetah toner), which respectively run on the Xeikon 3000 Series and Xeikon CX3. DigiPrime 4453 is particularly effective in difficult applications such as in-mold label printing and is suitable for food contact. Food safety in packaging is an important aspect that Xeikon Café visitors will learn about and see in viable solutions during the event and conference.
“Events like Xeikon Café are an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges label and packaging printers face,” says Jan Denies, industry manager, Printing & Packaging Group of Michelman. “We will be listening particularly to the printers in attendance, to better understand their needs as they transition to digital printing solutions.”
DigiPrime 4453 is a versatile solution commonly used as a primer for digitally printed labels and flexible packaging, and can also be used in conventional offset and UV printing applications. It facilitates the production of premium-quality output on a digital press.
With excellent adhesion to most papers and films, DigiPrime 4453 is a 100% aqueous product, providing a safer option for operators and the environment and does not yellow or lose its print receptivity over time.
