Technicote, Inc., is celebrating an important milestone: one year of no lost-time accidents at the Miamisburg, OH, USA, and Cuyahoga Falls, OH plants. A lost-time accident is a work-related injury that hinders an employee from being able to carry out his or her regular job duties. This achievement represents nearly 147,000 hours by more than 70 plant and corporate employees.
“A great milestone and another step forward for us. A lot of companies say people are important but it comes down to walking the talk and creating the right culture. I can always tell about a company when I walk into one of their sites. I learned early in my career that there is a direct correlation between the strength of the Safety Program and success in other areas,” says president Frank Gavrilos.
“If you focus on safety, you are focusing on your people and product quality,” says Chris Alverson, Cuyahoga Falls plant manager. Technicote’s safety program is as important as anything else to succeed in business. Technicote has committed managers, a clear system to identify and control hazards, certification with ISO 9001:2015 and a culture where all employees focus on mutual respect and open communication.
“I’m proud of our teams for achieving this milestone … not just in these two sites, but the progress we’ve made in all of our sites. Stay tuned, we are just getting started,” adds Gavrilos.
