Building on the success of ThermoFlexX digital imagers and Woodpecker Nano screening technology, Xeikon Prepress is launching a new and integrated prepress solution for digital flexo plates.
Since Xeikon Prepress, as part of Xeikon, joined Flint Group in 2015, the two divisions combined forces in developing highly automated imaging devices and invested further into mutual R&D projects.
Woodpecker Nano, a technology to create surface microstructures, is one of the products that was launched in April this year as a result of the expertise exchange between Xeikon Prepress and Flint Group’s Flexographic division. “After joining the Flint Group family, we suddenly were in the unique position of having the expertise of one of the leading plate manufacturers combined with our own vast experience of imaging systems, in-house, which is unseen in our industry. As we have optimized ThermoFlexX imagers and developed Woodpecker Nano surface screening, we are now going for the next level to integrate and combine these with new innovations," notes Uwe Stebani, general manager of Xeikon Prepress.
“We are sure that industry experts are excited to learn about our new integrated plate imaging solutions,” adds Christophe Lievens, sales director of Xeikon Prepress. “Labelexpo 2019 has been the perfect opportunity to announce our vision of quality enhancement in flexo platemaking.”
More recently, the two divisions, with their brands ThermoFlexX and nyloflex, focused on efficiency in the packaging prepress value chain, with the objective to introduce an integrated imaging system, producing high-quality flexographic printing plates while increasing productivity in the prepress room.
