Dantex Digital, part of the Dantex Group, will install a PicoJet 330 UV inkjet digital press at Spectrum Digital Labels during the first week of October. The newly-formed print company is based in Norfolk.
The investment comes after Spectrum’s founders admitted, “No other press at this level comes close to the PicoJet 330 for running uncoated product. We can run any substrate and get an excellent result."
Joint owners John Parker, managing director, and Ian Tregay, sales director, recently established Spectrum Digital Labels after 30 years spent in the print industry. During their careers, both developed significant industry knowledge and experience, including forging a strong working relationship with Dantex. It was this mutual respect and trust from both parties that ultimately helped broker the investment deal for PicoJet 330.
Parker explains, “We have a long history of association with Dantex, way before they launched their successful digital division. It’s great to do business with them – Dantex has always had an awesome reputation for service and attention to customers’ needs. We are confident that once the press has been installed, it’s the start of a journey with Dantex and that they’ll be there throughout, working closely together with us to get the best out of the press.”
“The PicoJet has been on the radar for us for a while now, having seen it in action at the Dantex Digital site in Kettering,” adds Tregay. “We’re really impressed by the changeover speed from one substrate to another and the high-resolution quality is just awesome. We’ve included a number of options including white, variable data, slitter and edge trimmer, which will hold us in good stead for the foreseeable future."
PicoJet 330 is a productive UV digital inkjet press, with high-speed production at up to 75 m/m and is capable of producing more than 9 million linear meters of printed labels per year. As a 5-color printing system, it offers excellent print quality thanks to its 2.5 picoliter droplet size and an effective resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. It also has a highly sophisticated transport system, which controls the print run without displacement while maintaining stable reel-to-reel transfer conditions.
“John’s association with Dantex goes back many years, primarily as a supplier of plate materials and plate making equipment and more recently for our digital expertise," says Andy Abbott, Dantex’s director of operations. "The history of our relationship has today given John the confidence to look at our digital offering and make PicoJet 330 their preferred choice for their new digital label printing venture. The impressive capabilities of this press: speed, quality and performance will help Spectrum reach their business targets in the shortest possible time."
