Sweden's Nordvalls Etikett is expanding with two more Gallus Labelmaster presses. The two new flexo printing presses allow the company to count three presses of the same brand and model to their pressroom. The investment is made to meet the sharply increasing demand for highly processed labels in large volumes. The first of the two new printing presses will be installed in December 2020 and the second in January 2021.
The printing company has had a Gallus Labelmaster 440 for approximately 1.5 years and has experienced its high productivity and great flexibility. Therefore, the choice was easy when Nordvalls were to invest again, the company says. “We invest because we continue to grow and need to expand our capacity, but also to increase our flexibility and continue to meet customers' requirements for short delivery times," says Patrik Jenemark, Nordvalls’ Managing Director.
Nordvalls has recently seen a market increase in demand among both existing and new label customers. Producing primarily self-adhesive labels, the company has their first Gallus Labelmaster in production since spring 2019. With the purchase of two more Labelmaster narrow web presses, they want to meet the increasing demand and to increase the flexibility in the machine park. After the installation of the new presses, Nordvalls will have three Gallus Labelmaster in total. Their machine park otherwise consists of a mix of flexo, screen and digital printing presses.
“The reason Nordvalls chose Labelmaster is the quality Gallus stands for and the flexibility and cost-efficiency. Besides that, the modular machine system is easy to operate and offers minimal paper waste as well as production speeds of up to 200 m/min,” states Rickard Rafstedt from Heidelberg Sverige.
The two new Gallus Labelmaster are equipped with flexo and screen printing units. Moreover, a cold foil unit and a rotary diecutting unit will be integrated. Applications for this investment will be mainly self-adhesive labels for the pharma, cosmetics, food and manufacturing industry as well as security labels.
Nordvalls was founded in 1907 and has its head office and production in Sjöbo with a second production facility in Kungälv, Sweden. As of March 2020, Watermill Press Ltd. in Bradford, England, became part of Nordvalls Etikett. The company`s focus is on self-adhesive labels and the customer mix is broad; from food companies to pharmaceutical companies, via beauty and cosmetics to the paper and pulp industries. Nordvalls has been part of the Possehl Group since 2017. Possehl Group is a corporate group based in Lübeck, Germany, consisting of eight independent business segments.
