ASL Print FX has invested in Prati’s Saturn with Futura technology for its Napa, CA-based facility. The Prati Saturn TE450 slitter/rewinder will enhance ASL's production efficiency and flexibility.
The converter utilizes both digital and flexographic technology to produce high-end wine and spirit labels.
Prati's equipment boasts flexibility thanks to open-platform technology called Futura. The Saturn range of slitter/rewinders run at high speeds and offer maximum adaptability to future needs, avoiding downtime for retrofits and consequent loss in terms of production. The Saturn TE450 is also equipped to comply with Industry 4.0 standards and can be connected to customers' MIS systems to exploit data and improve production efficiency.
The machine has an additional flexo unit and works inline with a Pantec Rhino hot-stamp/embossing unit to achieve the highest quality in embellishment for high-end wine and spirits labels, ASL says.
With its new generation motion technology and a self-sharpening slitting knife system, the Saturn handles a wide range of PS label materials on paper and film liners, including the UPM PP30 and AD PET micron liners, booklet, tube laminate, aluminium foil, Tyvek, cardboard, multi laminate. Quick setup routines ensure all systems are ready to run simultaneously, making it safer and faster to start producing.
ASL Print FX is headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. ASL Print FX also operates manufacturing plants in Napa, CA and Winston-Salem, NC.
