Mactac is expanding its role as a leading member of the CELAB (Circular Economy for Labels) global consortium, announcing the naming of company leaders to the consortium’s executive boards.
Ed LaForge, President and Chief Executive Officer for Mactac, will serve as vice president of CELAB’s global executive board, and Kevin Clunie, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Mactac Performance Adhesives Group, will serve as vice president of CELAB’s North America branch executive board.
Additionally, Brittany Eppley, Mactac’s Marketing and Communications Manager will play a leading role on the CELAB North America branch communications team. Mactac’s parent company, LINTEC, is also a member of the organization within the CELAB Europe regional branch.
CELAB, which was formed in 2020, promotes recycling in the self-adhesive label industry. It is comprised of more than 30 industry companies working together with a shared vision to create a sustainable pressure-sensitive labeling industry by offering solutions and providing education to enable matrix and liner recycling.
“This has been a known issue for some time and it’s great that we are all coming together as an industry to positively make an impact,” says Clunie. “There is no better time than the present to create a more sustainable industry – environmentally and economically.”
Clunie and his fellow CELAB North America board members are responsible for establishing the organization’s policies and overseeing activities conducted through its workstreams, such as the Recycler Network Workstream, Technical Workstream, and Communications Workstream.
Globally, LaForge and the other CELAB global board members are responsible for establishing the organization’s policies and overseeing activities conducted through global and branch workstreams to ensure regionally appropriate initiatives and cooperation.
All CELAB activities focus on sponsoring research, sharing information, and educating stakeholders, policymakers, and the public through proactive communication, of which Eppley will assist within the strategy, coordination, and dissemination.
