UV curing specialist GEW has announced that Chuck Irons has joined GEW Inc. as sales manager for North America. Irons' career spans over 40 years in the industry and has been focused on sales and sales management in commercial, newspaper and digital printing.

He has in-depth experience of dealing with printers and OEMs all around the world, primarily in web offset print for brands such as Contiweb and Goss International. The majority of Irons' career has been in the auxiliary side of the business, so he has a wealth of experience in bringing importance to the component side of a press, whether as part of a new project or a retrofit project.

Robert Rae, managing director of sales at GEW, comments, “Chuck’s skills are an excellent fit for GEW as we expand our reach across North America. We already have a commanding position in label and narrow web, but Chuck will focus on building our share in sheetfed and web offset. We have superb, market-leading UV and UV LED products that offer the perfect solution to these markets, both in terms of productivity and cost, and Chuck is ideally positioned to capitalize on this.”

Rae continues, “Chuck will spend time at GEW Inc. headquarters in North Royalton, OH, while being primarily based at his office in Neenah, WI. His responsibility will span North America, and he is focused on delivering solutions to our customers. He will also be supporting our existing customers and partners in the sheetfed offset industry, and is ideally positioned to support their sales efforts more effectively than ever before. Irons has been a member of the Web Offset Association for over 40 years and has served on the Board of Directors for the Book Manufacturers institute. He has a Bachelors in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY.
