SpectraGraphics has purchased its fourth Prati Saturn machine and second Prati Saturn with Futura technology and Prati's FastCut system.
Based in Lenexa, KS, USA, SpectraGraphics Inc. is a custom label and tag converter specializing in flexographic printing of prime films, foils and papers, as well as thermal and specialty materials. Among the market sectors they supply are the food, beverage, household segments and those requiring coupon labels. The company is also a member of FLAG (Flexo Label Advantage Group).
With three Saturn high-speed slitter inspection rewinders already installed and running in the company, SpectraGraphics opted for a fourth Saturn and the second with Futura technology and featuring a FastCut system, the exclusive automated knife and counter-knife positioning device developed by Prati. It is an ideal fit for short runs and digitally printed labels, since it drastically reduces set-up times, the FastCut feature also improves slit quality with tighter tolerance levels, ensuring consistent quality thanks to the absence of variables and leads to longer knife-life.
Jim Freeman, operations manager at SpectraGraphics is thrilled with the FastCut device. He says, “The new FastCut system is amazing. We have had four different operators over there working on it in the last two days and it is simple, quick and easy to operate.”
Prati says it is always proactive in supporting customers like SpectraGraphics, understanding their needs and suggesting improvements to help them reach their business objectives.
