Grafotronic, a supplier of digital finishing equipment, has announced the release of two new products. The ONE – a single anvil semi-rotary die cutting module capable of reaching a stunning 150 m/minute and Grafotronic IQ.
Featuring no less than 4 high-definition cameras, numerous of automation features and controlling software, Grafotronic IQ is a workflow automation suite that enables the Grafotronic DCL modular finisher to do job change autonomous, handling all job settings automatically.
“We all want to be more efficient, increase productivity, decrease waste and everyone should be able to get the most out of our machine. Our latest innovation will do that. Grafotronic IQ Is all about: no more manual side adjustments, no more manual register sensor settings and no more depending on the individual operator when it comes to set up times, waste, and product quality," says Mattias Malmquist, vice president, Grafotronic
Grafotronic IQ works with a set of cameras that are monitoring the web and automatically adjust what’s needed. All of this is done at the highest speed within the digital finishing field. Even sensors are automatically moved into the right position without any manual interference.
Grafotronic IQ takes over all the manual adjustments, and station by station is being set up in a blink of an eye, Malmquist says. "Roll change, flexo printing, semi-rotary diecutting and slitting all is done and checked with a tolerance below +/- 0,1 mm. All the operator needs to do, is to change the tools in our existing quick-change solutions,” he says, adding, "and we calculate an average waste of maximum two meters per roll change – so almost no waste, the shortest possible setup times and automatically achieved best label quality."
Grafotronic has also announced The ONE – a single anvil semi-rotary diecutting module capable of reaching a stunning 150 m/minute.
“Diecutting is one of our strongest features and Grafotronic is a proud market leader within this segment. Our machines are already running up to 110 m/min on our single anvil systems. We also invented the GIGAFAST. A system based on a twin anvil design, and it is still the fastest system in the world," says Malmquist. “We are very proud to introduce The ONE – the first single anvil system that will run in speeds matching the twin anvils. And this is with a tolerance of just +/- 0,1 mm."
The single anvil design is superior to twin anvil systems when it comes to set up times and waste at job change: the ONE can be set up within just 30 cm and is developed to handle even the shortest runs in an effective way.
Grafotronic is in the last week of April and the first week of May, inviting customers from all over the world to join the Grafotronic Digital Demo Days, a hybrid on-line and on-site, two weeks open house event, in its facilities in Warsaw. More info can be found at www.grafotronic.se/ddd
