Esko, a global developer of integrated hardware and software products for the print, packaging, and label industries, has acquired imposition A.I. software company Tilia Labs, in a deal that delivers on the need of brand owners and converters to connect and integrate the entire value chain through upstream digitalization.
Tilia Labs’ range of intelligent algorithms for sheet layout, estimation, and planning complement Esko’s existing software suite and the two companies will work together to develop next generation integrated solutions.
“Converters are coming under increasing pressure to deliver more volume with shorter print runs to bring versatility to the market, while the adoption of digital printing continues to grow,” says Mattias Byström, vice president and group executive, product Identification, Danaher Corporation. “This acquisition demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing integrated software and hardware solutions that accelerate the go-to-market process for consumer-packaged goods.”
Meanwhile, Constantia Flexibles has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of FFP Packaging Solutions, a sustainable, flexible packaging company based in Northampton, UK. The acquisition earns Constantia Flexibles its first consumer plant in the UK.
Pim Vervaat, CEO of Constantia Flexibles, states, “The acquisition aligns well with our Vision 2025 growth strategy of investing in competitive businesses with potential for future growth. FFP Packaging Solutions joining the Constantia Flexibles Group will expand our overall market position. Its significant experience and credibility allow for strong relationships across the UK food industry. We will be working with the existing management team to continue driving the revolution of sustainable flexible packaging in the UK and beyond.”
