Prati is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023. The company looked back on its rich history at Labelexpo Europe, highlighting its accomplishments in front of a global audience. The event allowed Prati to meet the industry, not only customers and distributors but also those who have been with the company throughout its 50 years of history.
The key to Prati's success has been the development of new technology for finishing and inspection of printed rolls and packaging, available in multiple models. This has allowed Prati to create a global presence.
Prati hosted an anniversary celebration on September 12 in its own booth to commemorate the occasion with good food, wine, and live music. During a "finishing tour," Prati also met with the press and celebrated this milestone with those who, in various ways, contributed to building their history. This included founder Pietro Prati, who laid the foundation in Marradi in 1973 and, although not physically present, was there through memories of journalists who had met him in the past and a video wall that showcased his smiles alongside those of the remaining collaborators in Faenza, in a series of images that marked the days at the fair.
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Prati has touted its wide range of product innovation. The company featured seven machines at Labelexpo Europe, which signify its growth and commitment to the industry.
DIGIFASTone is a fully digital finishing line for both printed rolls and diecutting. The machine has been successful due to its versatility. It works with a wide range of materials with thicknesses ranging from 12 to 350 microns, including self-adhesive labels, clear-on-clear labels, wrap-around labels, shrink sleeves, plastic films, and unsupported paper and plastic materials. Furthermore, thanks to its fully automated setup without the use of flexible dies, magnetic cylinders, cliché rolls and anilox rollers it allows for reduced operating costs.
Meanwhile, the Jupiter was also on display. This unit is a control and converting line wide modular that offers maximum safety, defect-free quality, and modularity for the flawless inspection of labels and flexible packaging. Chosen for its high speed (up to 400 m/m) and wide web width (670 mm), it only stops to allow the elimination or correction of predetermined defects. It can handle various materials from 20 to 350 μm with three different rewinding tensions for unsupported films, self-adhesive labels, and "clear-on-clear" labels.
Other machines on display at the event included the DIGIFAST20000, the SATURN Omnia, the DIGICOMPACT and more.
In addition to the machines, Prati also aimed to bring a sense of lightness by selecting 101 thoughts from various famous authors. Based on the assumption that nothing happens "by chance," each guest could "draw" a phrase and discover what message the universe had in store for them at that moment.
