HP and RR Donnelley & Sons Company (RRD) have announced a strategic collaboration to expand RRD's production capacity with the commitment to install in excess of 15 new HP Indigo and PageWide Presses. These presses will join RRD’s existing fleet across facilities in North America, China, and Central America.
HP and RRD have been working together for the past 30 years, and this new expansion of RRD’s existing fleet will drive efficiency and time-savings throughout the entire production cycle. This expansion will enhance productivity and flexibility to support their clients’ diverse needs in the labels and packaging, commercial, direct mail, and statement businesses.
John Pecaric chief operating officer at RRD, says, “We are committed to delivering the highest quality brand experiences for our clients’ customers through multiple touchpoints in the physical and digital customer journey. We have a strategic relationship with HP that provides us with early access to innovative technology that continues to make print a valuable medium.”
Meanwhile, Colordyne Technologies (CDT), an industry provider of high-speed, high-resolution inkjet technology, has announced the sale of its 1600 Series and 1800 Series benchtop business to Afinia Label, a renowned provider of specialty printing solutions. This strategic move marks a significant step for both companies as they continue to align their business focuses and leverage their core strengths to better serve the digital printing market.
Since its inception in 2010, Colordyne Technologies has specialized in engineering and manufacturing high-quality inkjet engines and printers. With a commitment to delivering top-tier inkjet technology and support, Colordyne has installed over 600 inkjet engines and benchtop systems globally. The company's mission is to help printers successfully integrate inkjet into their business and onto their existing equipment. Colordyne is known for developing inkjet solutions, particularly for the narrow web label, packaging and commercial print industry.
Taylor Buckthorpe, director of sales and marketing, Colordyne Technologies, says, "Afinia is a leader in the benchtop market, and our customers will be in great hands with Afinia’s world-class team and will have access to a larger portfolio of finishing solutions.
