Package printing technology has long been a staple among the equipment seen at events in the PACK EXPO Portfolio of Trade shows, owned and produced by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. However, PACK EXPO International 2018—along with the co-located Healthcare Packaging EXPO (Oct. 14-17; McCormick Place, Chicago), is “packing” something new. Packaging engineer, designers, brand managers and marketers among the projected 50,000 attendees can expect to see the debut of The PACKage Printing Pavilion.
Introducing The PACKage Printing Pavilion
Located in the South Hall, The PACKage Printing Pavilion plays host to a wide range of the industry’s leading suppliers and spotlights solutions in digital printing for folding cartons, flexibles and corrugated packaging. Attendees can also find labeling, coding and marking systems, smart packaging innovations and other on-demand, high-speed and cost-effective printing technologies. Highlights include the Afinia (Booth #S-4336) digital label press that allows the user to print, laminate, die cut, remove waste, slit, and rewind labels using one machine. Another example is the Rena by Neopost (Booth #S-4051) digital printer capable of printing on surfaces and materials previously believed to be impossible. Attendees can also see the new automatic filling system from Robatech (Booth #S-4352) designed to maximize employee safety in hot melt applications. Below is a full list exhibitors located in this pavilion.
Something for Everyone
The PACKage Printing Pavilion isn’t the only feature worth visiting for attendees navigating the 2,500+ exhibitors along the 1.2+ million net square feet of show floor. The Containers & Materials Pavilion (North Upper Hall) will highlight the latest in paperboard, glass metal, plastics and other materials in addition to flexible and resealable packaging, new containers and sustainable formats. It is also the home of The Showcase of Packaging Innovations sponsored by the Dow Chemical Company. The Confectionery Pavilion (South Hall), sponsored by the National Confectioners Association (NCA), will house solutions specific to the manufacturers of sweets, including easy open and portion control packaging.
On-site Education
Attendees can also gain insights on the latest package printing technologies and best practices by at one of three Innovation Stage locations where industry experts offer 30-minute seminars on a wide range of trends and challenges. Sessions like Jim Bishop’s Simplifying the Use of Inks and Coatings for Safe Packaging Applications, will inform on compliance, safety and simplification in choosing the right ink and coating in packaging applications.
Access to the Innovation Stage sessions is free to attendees. Learn more about the full schedule of sessions, The PACKage Printing Pavilion, and register for the show by visiting www.packexpointernational.com.
