Harper, area college increase flexo education
Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) and anilox supplier Harper Corporation of America, both of Charlotte, NC, USA, have announced the formation of a continuing education program for the flexographic industry.
According to Tony Zeiss, president of CPCC, and Margaret Harper Kluttz, president of Harper, the program will be initiated with the creation of a new position, that of a full-time flexo education administrator for the college.
The administrator will work with Harper’s GraphicSolutions division to develop, plan, implement and market a variety of subjects, including color management, graphic design guidelines, prepress, plates, inks, substrates, simplifying anilox roll requirements, press operation, flexo basics, and enhanced process printing. Seminars will normally run from one to three days. A minimal fee will cover costs.
According to Alexander James, technical manager of the eastern division of Harper GraphicSolutions, “We are excited to work with the CPCC staff to enhance the educational program and contribute to continuing education in the flexographic industry.”
