WS Packaging buys SenecaSalem Inc.
WS Packaging Group Inc., based in Algoma, WI, USA, one of the largest label converting companies in North America, has signed a definitive agreement to purchase SenecaSalem Inc., which operates printing facilities in Salem, OH, USA, and in Franklin, PA, USA. The acquisition brings the number of WS Packaging’s manufacturing facilities to 18.
SenecaSalem produces an array of labels via offset and flexography, including shrink sleeve, cut-and-stack paper and film labels, in-mold labeling (blow and injection), and roll-to-roll labeling, among others. The company has approximately 200 employees, produces more than 4.5 billion labels a year, and has long-standing relationships with Fortune 500 customers that serve food and beverage, petroleum, and other markets. SenecaSalem is ISO 9002 certified.
“Having SenecaSalem as part of WS’ future is a great win for all of us,” says Terry Fulwiler, CEO of WS Packaging. “Adding their superior knowledge of flexible film and their other capabilities to our product offering strengthens our strategic initiatives to be the single source for all our customers’ printing and packaging needs.”
“We’re truly excited by the opportunity to join WS Packaging Group,” said Randy Hicks, president of SenecaSalem. “Our two companies have the same philosophy and commitment to product quality and customer service, and are equally blessed with a quality workforce. Combining the capabilities of our two companies creates a powerful resource for all of our customers.”
