Xeikon has selected Kodak Prinergy Workflow as the packaging workflow component of ThermoFlexX, its new flexographic and letterpress platemaking system that will be unveiled at this year’s drupa. As part of a global reseller agreement, Xeikon can incorporate the Kodak workflow system as part of its ThermoFlexX offering, enabling Xeikon to offer “a total solution to its customers,” according to the company.
Prinergy Workflow is designed to automate prepress processes from file creation to finished product. The value of this functionality will be incorporated in Xeikon’s ThermoFlexX portfolio, which includes imposition, trapping, RIP, screening and final assembly of the 1bit Tiff files. Prinergy Workflow’s advanced rules-based automation will also be an integral part of the workflow solution.
“With our X-800 workflow, Xeikon has many years of experience on digital printing workflows,” says Jeroen Van Bauwel, director of product management at Xeikon. “Selecting Kodak Prinergy as the workflow for our ThermoFlexX product range enables us to offer the total solution for our customers, while integration of both workflows will make sure they optimally fit within their production environments.”
“This reseller agreement to offer Prinergy Workfow to Xeikon’s packaging customers is a great add for both organizations. We are happy to be able to add a layer of value to the Xeikon portfolio,” adds Jon Bracken, general manager of Kodak Unified Workflow Solutions. “This cooperative relationship really underscores the commitment both companies have to the packaging market and our customers.”
