Minneapolis, MN-based Ritrama and Avery Dennison’s Fort Wayne, IN, USA, division have recently been awarded LIFE (Label Initiative for the Environment) certification from TLMI. The Project LIFE program was developed in order to assist TLMI members to find cost effective ways to reduce their companies’ environmental footprint. LIFE is a program designed specifically for the narrow web marketplace and addresses four key elements of the narrow web printing and converting industry: clean production, energy and greenhouse gases, product and environmentally preferable materials, and management practices.
TLMI President Frank Sablone says, “With 36 TLMI member companies now LIFE certified and more in the application process, we will surpass 40 LIFE certified companies in 2013 and that is an outstanding achievement. Ritrama and Avery’s certifications reinforce that the LIFE program has tangible benefits for both supplier and converter members as companies continue to seek ways to demonstrate to their customers, and to the greater industry, that they take environmental best practices very seriously.”
