Anderson & Vreeland has announced the acquisition of The Provident Group, a manufacturer and distributor of doctor blades, end seals and other products for the flexographic printing industry. Anderson & Vreeland says this acquisition is a part of its ongoing effort to provide continuous improvement in product offering, service and support for its North American customers.
“Provident Group’s technical expertise and patented innovation in the doctor blade and end seal field allows us to better serve customers throughout North America in one bold move,” says Howard Vreeland, Jr., chairman of the board for Anderson & Vreeland, Inc. “Our customers will benefit from an expanded manufacturing footprint, talent pool, and knowledge base,” adds Vreeland.
The Provident Group was founded by industry veterans Mark Van Denend and David Allen in 1996 and specializes in developing products for package and label printers. The company owns numerous patents that aim to improve doctor blade and end seal performance, including Chamber Wrap, a product that protects the doctor blade chamber from ink build up, greatly reducing clean-up time and solvent usage.
“Anderson & Vreeland’s acquisition of The Provident Group represents a win-win for both our organizations, and more importantly for our customers,” says Allen. “We will continue to develop new and improved solutions for label and package printers backed by the finest technical support.”
The Provident Group will operate independently as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anderson & Vreeland, Inc. The company has 16 employees and a manufacturing and sales/warehouse facility in Englewood, CO, USA. David Allen will remain with the company in charge of sales and Mark Van Denend will serve in a consulting capacity and continue to develop products for the pressroom.
