Polyonics, a manufacturer of film products for the label industry, has received the New Product Innovation Award from IPC Apex Expo for its Tribogard XF-781 and XF-782 anti-static label materials. Tribogard, a new generation of bar code labels with enhanced anti-static technologies, withstands the harsh manufacturing processes of both standard and lead-free PCB production. IPC is an association that covers all facets of the electronics industry, including design, printed board manufacturing, electronics assembly and test. The event was held in April in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
“Polyonics Tribogard label materials address two major concerns that standard labels can present in electronic labeling,” says Karen Rushton, product manager at Polyonics. “First, they eliminate the charge generated when the label is removed from the liner that can discharge and damage sensitive components during application. Second, after the label has been applied and during the label life, the Tribogard label has been designed to prevent significant charge build up on the label surface which can result in a static discharge event.”
Polyonics Tribogard label materials conform to REACH, RoHS, and Halogen Free environmental requirements of the electronics industry.
Polyonics, Westmoreland, NH, USA, develops, manufactures and markets specialty coated films, tags, and pressure sensitive label materials which withstand high temperatures, harsh chemicals, industrial manufacturing processes, and other "hostile environments".
