Keene Technology Inc. (KTI), a manufacturer of automatic splicers and turret rewinders, has announced that Quantum Design Inc. of Loves Park, IL, has taken new ownership of the company. KTI, originally founded in 1985 by John Keene, has decades of experience in developing splicing and rewinding equipment for the printing, packaging and converting industries.
Quantum Design Inc, a controls engineering and design firm that has an on-site panel building shop, has been in business since 1986 and is a leader in controls system automation. Quantum’s combination of engineering strength and control panel production experience iand expertise will bring improvement to the KTI product lines, specifically to the controls installed on their machines.
As part of the ownership change, Danny Pearse has taken over as President and Dave Culvey has taken over as Vice President of KTI. They currently serve as president and vice president of Quantum Design. They plan to keep the company in its current location in South Beloit, IL, and retain its current name, Keene Technology Inc, or KTI for short.
Pearse and Culvey plans for KTI include the development of new programs and improvement upon the current product lines.
