Infinite Packaging Group (IPG), a portfolio company of Svoboda Capital Partners LLC (SC), has announced the acquisition of Hyde Park Label Company (HPL). The transaction is the second add-on acquisition for IPG since SC’s initial investment in December 2012. Specific terms of the transaction were undisclosed.
HPL, headquartered just north of Austin in Round Rock, Texas, is a provider of flexographic and digitally printed labels and decorative packaging. The company focus is to provide superior customer service while producing quick turn, high-quality labels and film, for the food and beverage, craft beer, wine and spirits, and health and beauty markets. Randy and Geri Wise, HPL’s former co-owners, acquired HPL’s predecessor company, Dallas-based Century Label, in 1999, and later merged it with HPL in 2008. Over the years, HPL realized solid organic growth while expanding its production capabilities and distinguishing itself in a competitive market. Most recently Randy and Geri Wise were honored as 2015 TLMI Converters of the Year.
With locations now in Austin, Tulsa, and Dallas, IPG has developed a strong presence in the central/Southwest region of the country. “The HPL acquisition expands our geographic footprint and adds capacity to provide our customers with great quality and service. We remain committed to growing IPG through acquisitions and organic growth,” says Lynn Higgs, CEO of IPG.
Gary Dunlap, COO of IPG, adds, “From an operations perspective, HPL is a great addition to our team. We look forward to gaining insight from HPL’s experienced resources, enabling us to improve our entire organization.”
By virtue of the combination, IPG is now the only company in Texas with two HP WS6600 digital presses. The dual digital capability provides greater capacity to print short-run, quick-turn digital labels, sleeves, and pouches to satisfy clients’ needs.
“We are excited to join such a dynamic group of companies and industry professionals. The product breadth, expansive salesforce, and diverse asset base that IPG offers brings a bounty of solutions to the markets we currently serve, and compliments our value-based platform with a complete solutions portfolio," comments Alan Etheridge, managing director of HPL.
“HPL’s strategic partnership with IPG will continue to propel the business forward by providing more resources and more capital to execute on growth objectives,” comments Randy and Geri Wise. “We will forever be grateful to our loyal employees, customers, suppliers and colleagues for many successful years together.”
