Gallus will be hosting the Gallus Innovation Days once again from June 26-28, where up to 1,000 visitors are expected to arrive at the company's headquarters in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
During Gallus Innovation Days 2018, Gallus and Heidelberg experts are showing how digitization will change the label business and how Gallus Ferd. Rüesch AG and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG are going to jointly support their customers in mastering this paradigm shift. In order to do so, Gallus will present a variety of new products, following this year’s motto, “Solutions for Printing Champions."
A new digital label printing system called Gallus Smartfire is going to debut this year, which will feature easy handling. This label press is designed for constantly changing short runs and represents an affordable solution for any label printer who is interested in going into digital label printing.
During hourly live demonstrations held in the new Print Media Centre Label, Gallus novelties in digital and conventional label printing are going to be presented. The Gallus Labelfire is going to be highlighted. Upstream, the press is newly equipped with a fully integrated screen printing unit. Its applied screen white in full opacity can be used for transparent substrates and guarantees the quality standard for this digital label printing system.
In addition, the conventional Gallus label presses will be presented with additional features. For the first time, the new Gallus Labelmaster Advanced will be seen with an automatic transverse and longitudinal register control. The Gallus RCS 430 is equipped with flying imprint and extremely fast UV ink drying thanks to a UV booster, and the Gallus ECS 340 is featured with web shifting for the manufacture of multi-layer labels.
On top of that, the Gallus screen printing department will be presenting the whole production process of a Screeny A-Line printing plate, from screen exposure with the new Phoenix UV-LED exposing system by Heidelberg, to the development of a new automated washing and drying system by Gallus Screeny to the final assembly of the ready-to-print screen printing plate.
Heidelberg is slated to present several topics at the event, as well. Three-dimensional objects are going to be printed on and personalized on the Omnifire 250. Furthermore, Heidelberg covers in-mold printing with the rotative diecutter Speedmaster XL 160-DD, which is up to three times faster in terms of production and make-ready time, as well as more economic in tool costs than a similar flatbed diecutter. CERM is going to introduce new mobile solutions with its business management software.
More than 30 partnering companies are going to present their products and services for the label business in Hall 1, which exceeds all records of former Gallus Innovation Days.
