FTA has announced that it is now accepting entries for the 2019 Sustainability Excellence Awards competition. The deadline for entry submission is February 1, 2019.
“FTA is proud to honor its members for the advancements they have made in sustainability,” says Doreen Monteleone, manager of the Sustainability Excellence Awards program. “For nearly two decades, we have recognized the business practices and new technologies that have helped to shape and elevate flexographic printing as a more sustainable printing process.”
FTA recognized Heritage Envelopes Ltd, an international member from the United Kingdom, in 2018 for its product, PackMail. This “boxless” packaging alternative for shipping and storing envelopes keeps the product flat, safe from damage, reduces the environmental footprint, cuts back on waste, and lowers CO2 output and fuel consumption.
The Sustainability Excellence Awards competition is open to any stakeholder in the flexographic printing supply chain, whether an FTA member or not. This includes printers, suppliers, designers, prepress providers, educational facilities and print buyers.
Entries will be judged in one of two categories: Sustainability Programs and Innovations in Sustainability.
