“We are thrilled to have expanded our technological capabilities to become an even more complete supplier in the labels and forms markets,” comments Bruce Hanson, president, RRD Labels & Forms. “The consumer market is changing rapidly, and we are actively investing in digital assets that will enable our clients to be responsive and competitive in their respective industries through creativity and non-traditional offerings. We have taken a regional approach to our asset distribution in order to facilitate shorter run-times and cost efficiencies for our clients at each opportunity.”
RRD is utilizing the two HP Indigo 6900 digital presses to transition its traditional short-run flexo work to better utilize capacity while maximizing up-time on medium to long-run assets. With the ability to print any type of substrate available in the market in web form – for pressure sensitive, unsupported film, tag, and corrugated – RRD recognizes the changing needs in the marketplace and has taken a proactive approach to invest in the areas that give clients flexibility and the opportunity for success.
These two new digital assets, each of which has AB Graphic Digicon finishing units, build on RRD’s end-to-end labels capabilities, which enable clients to communicate and connect with their customers in meaningful ways, the company says. RRD’s Label Solutions business leverages its engineering and label testing facilities to provide optimal materials, best-in-class manufacturing solutions, and automation techniques to enhance client brands.
