For the first time in the association’s history, every TLMI converter member will be allowed to submit three Print Awards submissions at no cost. This year marks the association’s 43rd Print Awards Competition as narrow web converters from around the globe prepare to submit their companies’ applications.
The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2020.
Paul Teachout, TLMI judging committee co-chair, comments, “I think a lot of companies see the Print Awards as primarily an opportunity for prime label converters and that’s just not the case. The prime label categories are often the most competitive, so if you’re a non-prime converter this is your year to enter the competition and to submit your work, and it will cost you nothing. Chances are, whatever applications you print, there is an award category for that application.
"Participation lies at the heart of our association," he adds. "What better time for converters to participate in the Print Awards Competition than now given the state of the world. This is a time to show our strength and unity as members of TLMI. This is the time to come together to really show the industry what TLMI and its membership is all about.”
Think the TLMI Print Awards are all about big companies taking home the top honors? Think again. Many small-sized converters take home honors every year. Dwane Wall, president of Creative Labels of Vermont, shares his comments about his company’s participation in last year’s competition. “We were extremely excited about our awards in the TLMI Awards Competition. As a single rooftop facility going up against the world’s largest converters, it seemed like a mammoth task. But our team took to the challenge, a complete team effort from plate room to press room. Our team has worked hard to optimize our process and even utilizing older equipment we took on the giants and won. The pride and joy of our team is contagious and our customers also share in the winning culture. It is a win-win for all.”
