ECO3 is moving forwards into the packaging segment with dedicated solutions with an updated Amfortis V2 workflow.
Amornits workflow is designed as an integrated command center to streamline all prepress tasks. V2 is equipped with increased automation tools, advanced process control features and optimized approval cycles to help drive more value in packaging production.
“Since we introduced Amfortis in 2021, our focus is on driving even more value for packaging businesses increased significantly,” said ECO3 global head of software Andy Grant. “As with all ECO3 solutions, we respond quickly to customer feedback and current market dynamics by implementing new tools and improving existing features to allow printers to optimize their operations.”
Operations can be more economical, ecological, and convenient through ECO3’s automation of manual tasks, ensuring less waste of consumables, and time. Amfortis V2 features a new productivity feature, Autofill, which combines different jobs in the best possible sheet layout to maximize press utilization and seed up lead times. A better handing of bleed overlaps has also been developed to save paper for more sustainability, where manual changes in one place is automatically applied to all similar overlaps with the same layout.
“Amfortis is one of our newer solutions, so there is plenty of scope for customers to influence developments and for us to extend the software’s capabilities based on out market-leading Apogee Production Command Center technology, which has been supporting commercial printers to succeed for 20 years,” Grant added.
ECO3 has expanded the interface allowing users access to check measurements within the layout. Measurements of relative distances can be saved as a parameter and added to sheet layout templates to save time.
There has also been an integration of PressTune print standardization tool for imporved quality management and InkTune for optimizing ink usage, and SPIR@L screening technology which saves ink, while maintain print quality and increased productivity on press.
The new Amfortis V2 is WebApproval which offers an easy-to-use tool for viewing and approving print-ready files, streamlining communications. Product managers and other stakeholders can now review the design, colors, and barcode dimensions through a standard web browser. Information can be changed or added to any element and all actions, such as comments and approvals, are automatically tracked with by a full audit trail. This feature is especially useful and targeted towards customers in the food and pharmaceuticals industries.
“Our focus is on our customers’ needs and requirements. With version 2 of Amfortis, we have improved our offering for packaging significantly, giving printers a great competitive advantage that will help them take their business to the next level,” said Grant. “Looking to the future, we are now ready to take on the next challenge as we continue to build a dedicated and comprehensive ECO system for packaging.”
