Renaissance sells
stock label firm in MBO
Renaissance Mark, the Denver based company that acquired Mail-Well’s label division in May 2002, is back in the news this side of the pond. Early last year it announced it was reorganizing its British investments by focusing on the core UK businesses of Stampiton Ltd., based near Manchester. Almost a year later Stampiton’s management says it has bought the business in a management buyout deal.
Stampiton has carved out a strong business as a major supplier of stock and customized label lines for the home and office market, business forms printers and retail food market. It also manufactures bespoke laminate materials for niche markets. Current turnover is worth around £14 million ($25.62 million). The new management says “business as usual”, but plans some additional investment.
