FTA honors four
for environmental excellence
The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has recognized four companies through the 9th Annual FTA Environmental Excellence Award program. The award winning companies are the Lauterbach Group, Waukesha, WI, USA; Coating Excellence Inter-national LLC, Wrightstown, WI, USA; AllpakTrojan, Renton, WA, USA; and Creative Labels, Gilroy, CA, USA.
“The commitment to sustainability exhibited by all of the nominees is a testament to the value of these awards in promoting environmental stewardship. It is encouraging to see broader application and incorporation of green technologies throughout organizations and the industry as a whole. They are certainly raising the bar for future nominees,” says David Lanska, Midwest regional sales manager for Stork Cellramic, and one of the program’s judges.
Judge Tommy Linder of Temple-Inland adds, “It has been said that we do not inherit the land from our ancestors but rather, we borrow it from our children. At the core of that truth is the responsibility we all must hold for protecting our environment. I truly believe the Environmental Excellence Awards Program is a means for the FTA to show the world that companies are taking the responsibility and protecting our environment.”
For information about the 10th Annual Environmental Excellence Awards competition, contact Doreen M. Monteleone, director of special projects & EHS services at dmonteleone@flexography.org or visit the FTA website later in the year. Entries will be due December 31, 2009.
