Mactac has launched a new tamper-evident labelstock designed to increase brand protection against product tampering, warranty fraud and asset theft.
A non-PVC, destructible labelstock, the tamper-evident product, LTCNVP50, has a balance of high tensile strength with low internal strength, making it easy to convert on press but extremely difficult to peel off or remove once applied. Upon attempted removal, the material fractures easily, causing irreversible damage and preventing subsequent re-application.
“Created with brand and product protection in mind, this labelstock is one-of-a-kind,” says Kim Hensley, marketing manager, Mactac Performance Adhesives. “Its design is unique in that it has 50% higher tensile strength than conventional destructible vinyl, yet low internal strength once applied to the surface, producing a fragile facestock that is still easy to convert. It also offers consistent printability and is proven to run faster than other destructible products on the market today.”
LTCNVP50 consists of:
“Product tampering and theft are ongoing issues for brand owners in numerous industries making it highly important to incorporate product labeling as part of brand defense systems,” adds Hensley.
According to Mactac, LTCNVP50 fully meets RoHS10 compliance of restricted materials. It was originally developed by Mactac’s parent company, Lintec Corporation, which provides a wide range of pressure sensitive papers and films to produce labels and seals for a variety of applications such as food labeling, consumer electronics and automotive identification.

LTCNVP50 consists of:
- A 2.0-mil white matte non-vinyl film facestock that has been top-coated for excellent flexographic and thermal transfer printing.
- A high-performance permanent acrylic adhesive with aggressive initial tack that offers very good adhesion to high and low energy surfaces, as well as temperature and humidity resistance.
- A 45# blue glassine liner excellent for diecutting and stripping.
